On Jetta MK6 there is not pre-cut holes for Footwell light - you need to cut yourself. The position is similar to Golf MK6. The plastic on the driver side is hard to cut, you need patience and force.
On the passenger side I choose to install in the foam under the glovebox.

You need to unscrew 2 panel to have acces to the BCM:

Remove the BCM gently and very carefuly. Remove connector from the middle, is coloured in white.
+ goes into 50 pin
- from the cigarette light or from an screw on the console
